Sunday Neurosis

I love NPR.
Today a guest author was talking about the term "Sunday Neurosis" that was coined to describe the unsettled way some people feel on Sundays when their weekly routine has come to an end. It is a time I actually look forward to. Sunday is always the day I reevaluate my life and decide on the changes that need to be made.
Sometimes I will rearrange my room to make objects flow in and out more efficiently throughout the week. Some Sundays I will use to organze my email inbox and catch up on items I didn't respond to. It is a day to re-prioritze my life's activities, make a couple goals or changes, and move toward greater happiness.
I think some people are just in the habit of living with their habits & routines and see change as an adversary rather than the medicine, or exercise it can be.
Do you have Sunday Neurosis?

Yes, I remember going to school and always looking forward to the weekend, but then when it actually came I realized that I was not very happy and would get bored and contemplate over why I get in this cycle every weekend. I did not realize that other people go through this too and that there was a term coined for it. I just ordered Victor Frankl's Man's Search For Meaning book over amazon – hopefully I will learn something insightful and interesting about this subject.

Wow…thought I was crazy. Every Sunday, I thought, "Sunday stinks." I didn't know why. I attributed it to just having to go back to work on Monday. But, come Monday, I had this strange "relief." I am scared that I don't know what to do with myself when left with the option. During the work week I have so many hopes of what I want to do when not working, but they're only a sort of pipe dream. Come Sunday, I am faced with the reality of my life. Usually, what helps, is doing a small activity, like organizing my Cds or something. Then, momentum pulls you through.
